I used to think the end was near

Every breath was built on fear

Every night I disappeared

Every truth I never shared

I was running from my name

From the glory and the shame

From the boy I left behind

Then I saw beyond the fall

There was meaning in it all

Every scar became a map

Leading where I was at

Legacy written in my bones

Not in silver not in thrones

Not the numbers not the name

It is who I chose to be
